I have a small Company that is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with about 3-6 years experience. What they need is someone that has the experience to take a small prototype manufacturing process and build it into a full scale production facility running different lines. The thing I like about it is that it is a ground floor opportunity for the right person. Need someone that is familiar with different manufacturing processes, able to design or purchase new equipment, change or add lines when needed and be experienced and intelligent enough to take the Company into full production mode. Salary is in the mid $50s to mid $60s. I believe that the salary level will grow as production comes on line. Location would be in Ohio, but there is some travel involved going to clients and suppliers. For the right person, I believe that this could be a very good growth oriented position.
Everywhere you look, the experts are saying that we are in a recession. It seems to me that, yes the economy is in for some troubles with gas prices so high and unions striking some major manufacturing plants. But I seem to be really busy with openings and candidates looking for new work, that I just do not see the “recession”. I have openings today that I will not fill because I can not find the “right” person for the job, or the Company finds someone on their own. I have about 10-15 openings at this time that I have done some work for. My network that I am on has about 15-30 new openings per day, so there are jobs out there. I probably get about 50 new candidates per day looking for work so there seems to be candidates looking. I just feel that I have been busier this year than in years past and that’s why I do not see the slow down that everyone is predicting.
Having nothing to do with nothing, but getting back to gas prices. The amount of money that the gas Companies are making is just outrageous. But what really makes me upset about this is when the CEO gets a $25 MM bonus or something outrageous. How much money do your need before you feel secure? $3 MM? $12 MM? You know when you pass you are not going to take any of the money with you? If you cut the executive bonuses in half, how much would that save on the price of gas?
Will there be any Middle Class left in this Country?
